I have tried for some time to find a recording by Chris and his jazz band of "there'be a hot time in the old town tonight". I have a scratched version of it on a 45 45-DB4333 may be the "b" side to "Lonesome" and hoping to be able to find a copy on cd but its not listed anywhere. Any suggestions please!

"A hot time in the old town tonight" has been released - as far as I know - on two different CD's:

1. Ottilie Patterson "Back in the old days" - CD Chris Barber Collection CBJBCD 4001

2. Chris Barber's Jazz Band - The Traditional Jazz Scene Vol. 2 - Teldec 8.26525 ZR 243 997-2

However I'm not shure if these CD's are still available; try E-bay, Amazon or
i mean, it was published also on the CD: "THE ESSENTIAL" Label: KAZ - KAZ CD 13 (in different Covers) - Best regards - Toni

I do not think 'There'll Be A Hot Time In Old Town Tonight'is on KAZ CD 13 (The Essential Chris Barber) All the tracks on that CD are from the Pye/Nixa Series, and this track was a Lansdowne/Columbia recording. (also on the EP 'Ottilie' Columbia SEG 7915)

Hi everybody,
Here is a completion of my comments earlier this week:
There is an actual CD with "Hot time" on it: It is the Lake CD LACD 194 / Chris Barber's Jazz Band / Bandbox No. 1. Try the Lake link on this website - the CD should still be available.
