The enhanced website is terrific especially the guest section. Other musicians have played with Chris, notably Sandy Brown after Monty left the band, and one memorable night at THe Salisbury in Barnet I was lucky enough to see the great Jimmy Garforth substitute on drums when Graham Burbage was off sick.
...and for example in 1994 drummer Steve Dixon from John Slaughter´s Blues Band played some concerts with the band (after Russel Gilbrook left and Alan Sticky Wickett was to rejoin the band). At least two concerts in Germany in summer.
Do you have the towns and or dates that Steve Dixon played drums. We should note this the discography!
Hi...looking back into the tour schedule of 1994 it´s been Bad Pyrmont, 27th August 1994 where I went and (not absolutely sure about it) Goslar, 3rd September 1994 both in Germany. Two summer gigs where the band took the plane and lended equipment to play the concerts. As far as I know, Bad Pyrmont was also the very first night for Paul Sealey to play with the band. I´ve got photos of both Paul and Steve at this occasion (as well as from the whole band).
Many thanks for the drumm stool information.
...and do not forget Luis de Lu Ssanet - the Dutch Swing College Band drummer - featured on drums in East Berlin (28.11.1965)
Luis de Lu Ssanet - is that Chinese?
- Johnny Boston (cl, ts)...at least 5th November 1995 in Bremen standing in for Ian Wheeler who couldn´t play parts of the tours. Before that the band played several concerts with the three part line up (Crocker, Barber, Halcox) as for example Oldenburg on 30th October 1995.
- Ole Stolle (tp) standing in for Wendell Brunious for parts of the concert at Sägewerk, Möhnesee, 29th August 1992. Wendell Brunious stood-in for Pat Halcox who wasn´t able to play during that time. I only know this from a leaflet where there is a photo of the band playing with Ole Stolle.
- Chris Farlowe (as guest singer) for My Babe and Stormy Monday Blues at the 100 club, London on 24th August 2000. Great concert!
