On a recent last minute trip from NZ to the UK, I was able to take in the Goodwood Revival race meeting's practice day on the Friday, before heading north to Nottingham, for my school's 50th reunion, on the Saturday.
Needless to say, before I left NZ, I had to check out where the band was playing, and as this was only a short trip, it was a real bonus to find that they were playing in Christchurch on the Friday evening, so, as I was staying with my brother in Bournemouth anyway, it was just perfect timing.
Imagine my surprise to find that Vic Pitt was playing, as Dave Green (no relation!) had a prior engagement. Then, Bob Hunt was also back on trombone for a night, (now back from South Africa) as it was easier than dragging John Service over from Switzerland, for just one UK concert.
As always, a brilliant night, especially the first half, and a great weekend overall.
