I'm trying to ID the band members on the 1960 "Chris Barbers American Jazz Band with Sidney de Paris" recording.

Hi Philip,

I'm working on a large set of pages about LP covers. The info you want is on one of the "working pages" at http://www.chrisbarber.net/LP-covers/chris-barber%27s-american-jazzband.htm

Yes, a nice record, that one! Two members of Wilbur de Paris' band were on it (the great, great Sidney, of course.) The Atlantic LPs by Wilbur de Paris are all on CD (Collectables). C.B. loved that band, he told me so himself at aconcert in Holland a couple of years ago. He recorded at least two of Wilbur's compositions ('Martinique' and 'Majorca'), followed de Paris' arrangement of 'Yama Yama Man, and (I think) was influenced generally by him as an arranger (for some reason, Barber's version of the MJQ's 'Golden Striker' comes to mind).
I spend a lot of time these days listening to both bands.
