| #1 | Alex died Saturday, 21st June 2009. He was also a trombone player, one of the famoust of Switzerland. I hope his spirit live on and on and on, and maybe your thoughts are in Switzerland Thursday next, to say goodbye.

| #2 | Hi Diana,
This is indeed bad news and a shock. Al was a legend on the Swiss scene and someone I always looked forward to meeting on the gig circuit. I hadn't seen him for some time - had he been ill for a while? He will be sadly missed by us as musicians - a good player and a nice guy.
Best regards,
John. |

| #3 | Hi John,
I am very sorry to answering so late. Al was ill since October last year, he had cancer and had to be hospitalized during most of time. But every evening he was always listening to his beloved music, Dixieland, from a CD-player.
We, his family (Zahler-side, the side of his wife) will always remember the great musician, the gigolo, the everytime smiling Al.
His music will never die..
Thank you for your thoughts, they touched me deeply.
With best regards
Diana. |
